Pi Coin: How To Fix Common Pi Network Issues During KYC Verification

Tackling Common Pi Network KYC Verification Hurdles

fix common pi network issues during kyc verification

Hey there, fellow Pioneers! If you’re anything like me, diving into the Pi Network has been an exciting journey. But, let’s be real—navigating the KYC (Know Your Customer) verification can sometimes feel like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded.

Don’t sweat it! I’ve been through the trenches and am here to guide you through the most common KYC hiccups and how to fix them.

Name Mismatches: When Your ID and Pi Profile Don’t See Eye to Eye

Picture this: you’ve uploaded your ID, but Pi Network waves a red flag because your profile name doesn’t match. Frustrating, right? Good news! Pi Network now allows appeals for such mismatches.

You can either correct your details or update your Pi profile to align with your ID. Heads-up, though—opting for a profile name change might cost you a slice of your Mobile Balance as a penalty.

Phone Number Faux Pas: Fixing Those Pesky Digit Errors

We’ve all been there—mistyping a digit or two when typing out our phone numbers. Previously, this could lock you out of the KYC process.

Previously, Pi Network was letting you correct up to two digits in your registered phone number. This tweak ensures minor mistakes don’t keep you from verifying your account.

But remember, the two-digit limit was there to prevent any sneaky business such as account selling or hackers taking over your account.

But currently, there’s an exciting update about this feature, removing limits, and now you can change the entire phone number for limited number of times.

Common problems:

  • Previously, users were able to change only up to two digits of the phone number.

  • Users could only change either the country code or the phone number at a time in 24 hours or so, according to my observation. And even that failed sometimes.

  • Solution: I have noticed that after 24 hours from requesting the phone number change, both of the options are available. And after the last update, these problems are already fixed and should not appear anymore.

“KYC Not Available” Blues: Getting Past the Dreaded Slot Message

So, you’ve mined diligently, but when you try to verify, you hit the “Slots are not available at this time” wall. Annoying, right? Here’s a workaround:

  1. Access the Official Review Form: Head over to the Pi Network’s official account review form.
  2. Fill in Your Details: Input your Pi username exactly as it appears in your profile.
  3. Explain the Situation: In the form, mention that you’ve completed the required mining sessions but can’t access KYC.
  4. Submit and Wait: After submission, the Pi support team will review your case. Patience is key here; some users have reported resolutions within a few days.

Tentative Approval: What It Means and What to Do

Seeing a “Tentative Approval” status can be a head-scratcher. Essentially, it means you’re almost there, but Pi Network needs to run a few more checks.

This status doesn’t grant full access yet, so hold tight. The duration varies, but rest assured, the team is working to get you fully approved.

Document Upload Dilemmas: Ensuring Clarity and Compatibility

Blurry ID photos or unsupported document types can throw a wrench in the verification process. To avoid this:

  • Use Clear Images: Ensure your ID photos are sharp and legible.
  • Check Supported Documents: Use IDs that Pi Network recognizes.
  • Good Lighting for Selfies: When taking that live selfie, make sure you’re in a well-lit environment.

The Waiting Game: Dealing with Delays

Sometimes, even after doing everything right, you’re left waiting. High volumes of applications or validator availability can cause delays.

While it’s frustrating, regularly checking the KYC page and staying updated through official Pi channels can keep you in the loop.

Also, create a Pi account now if you haven’t already to start mining. Here’s a step-by-step guide.
