If you’ve ever tried adding someone to your Pi Security Circle and hit the dreaded “failed to add phone number” or “User is not a member of Pi network yet” error, you’re not alone. Many Pioneers have faced this hiccup, and it’s often due to a few common issues. Let’s dive into what the Security Circle is, why it’s essential, and how to troubleshoot common problems.

The NEW! updated KYC’d and Active Pi miners’ phone number list is given at the end. Stay tuned.

What Is the Pi Network Security Circle?

The Security Circle is a unique feature of the Pi Network that enhances the security of its blockchain. By adding trusted individuals to your circle, you contribute to a global trust graph, which the Pi consensus algorithm uses to secure transactions.

Common Reasons for the “Failed to Add” Error

Pi Security Circle Failed To Add Phone Number
  1. Contact Not Registered on Pi Network: Ensure the person you’re trying to add has an active Pi Network account.
  2. Phone Number Format Issues: The contact’s phone number should be saved in the correct international format to be recognized by the app.
  3. App Sync Issues: Sometimes, the app doesn’t immediately recognize new contacts. Restarting the app can help refresh the contact list.
  4. Inactive Users: If the contact hasn’t been active on Pi Network recently, they might not be eligible to be added to your Security Circle.

  3. Restart the Pi Network App: After saving a new contact, close and reopen the app to refresh the contact list.
  4. Add Through the App: Navigate to the Security Circle section in the app and select “Add from contacts” to include your trusted individuals.

Can You Change Your Security Circle?

Yes, you can modify your Security Circle by removing inactive members and adding new trusted contacts. This ensures your circle remains active and contributes effectively to the network’s security.

Personal Experience

I have spent countless hours trying to fix these issues, read threads, watched videos, and suffered just to bring the best and 100% working techniques to you. Make sure to follow the instructions; regardless of failure, they work eventually.

  • Save the phone number of your contacts with the correct international dialing code. Make sure there are no spaces or unwanted zeroes between the numbers.

  • Upon refreshing the list each time, you may see the pi verified badge beside the contacts sometimes, and sometimes it disappears. This is a common issue seen in the app and doesn’t always show the accurate status each time due to high volume, I assume, as it often shows poor network connection. Don’t worry about it and keep adding regardless.
  • It may show “User is not a member of Pi network yet” or “Failed to adderror. Keep re-opening the app, refreshing the list, and re-adding the contacts. This can take hours, but it’s worth it as it’s a one-time process and boosts your security circle. It’s frustrating, I know, but do it anyway.
  • At some point, it will recognize the number correctly and will successfully add to the security circle.
  • Awesome! You did it. It only took, what? like one eternity. lol
